We are looking for a new colleague!

The Institute of Social Communication Research of the Slovak Academy of Sciences is a leading research institute in Slovakia, focusing on social and educational psychology.

We are recruiting researchers (postdocs or senior researchers), starting in September 2022 (or later), for a fixed term of up to 5 years, with the possibility of extension (depending on project funding). The applicant must have attained a PhD. in psychology or related social science disciplines, or be about to obtain PhD. We are primarily looking for colleagues with an interest in intergroup relations, family and parenthood, intimate relationships and sexuality, and/or cognitive psychology applied to the field of education and literacy.

The successful candidate should be proficient in advanced mathematical and statistical methods and have a proven record of scholarly publication, including outputs in WOS/Scopus journals and outputs in English. Experience with research stays abroad is an advantage. A minimum B2 level of English is required. Proficiency in other foreign languages is welcome. The ability to work independently as a scientist and the ability to work in a scientific team is also expected. Experience in preparing grant applications to national and international scientific agencies is an advantage.

The starting gross monthly salary will be set in accordance with Annex 3 of Slovak Government Decree laying down the increased scales of salaries for employees in public employment, depending on qualifications and length of experience (min 1111,50 EUR and max 1517 EUR).
