Prof. PhDr. Jana Plichtová, PhD. is a Slovak psychologist, university teacher and former actress.In 1973 she graduated in psychology from the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava.From 1973 to 1990 she worked at the Institute of Experimental Psychology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. She also worked on her CSc. studies. From 1990 to 2015 she worked at the Institute of Social Communication Research of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, from 1990 to 1992 she was its director. From 1992 to 1994 she worked at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, University of Trnava and from 1995 to 2017 at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Charles University. From 2017 to 2022 she was a researcher at the Institute of Applied Psychology, Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Charles University. She was habilitated as an associate professor in 1998 and appointed professor in 2003. Currently she is a researcher emerita at the Institute of Psychology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
